OSHA Technical Assistance Specialist (OTAS)
The OTAS Project is a means by which Safety and Health professionals can volunteer to become pre-qualified to deploy to a disaster area and provide technical assistance under the Worker Safety and Health Annex of the National Response Framework (formerly the National Response Plan).
Qualified OTAS, while deployed, will be temporary employees of Colorado State University (CSU). All travel expenses, meals and lodging will be reimbursed and compensation will be paid at a GS-12 step 5 rate. These funds will be provided to CSU by FEMA for legitimate disaster response expenses.
Volunteers will be required to attend a pre-deployment training activity and provide evidence of medical ability and respirator fit test.
